          • This book is one part Clone Wars battle, one part tense polyamorous dinner date between Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Bail Organa where Anakin is jealous of Bail getting all of Obi-Wan and Padme’s affections and wants to know why no one is touching his arm and smiling charmingly, and one part Obi-Wan and Anakin keep having Feelings that they can’t deal with while tucked into air ducts and under tables.
          • FYI, the sequel features more Feelings that Anakin cannot deal with, Taria Damsin’s magical unicorn hair, and Obi-Wan convincing himself not to adopt a scrappy little girl

          • Another book heavily featuring a lady character, our favourite femme Sith apprentice Asajj Ventress and her tragic romance adventure with Quinlan Vos!
      • Knights of the Old Republic and KotOR II – easy to implement invulnerability cheat so that you can do other things while your character is fighting kath hounds for ten minutes – each of them is $9.99 US on Steam right now

Fiber Stuff

  • Mystery Fleece Prep – picking out the good locks from the matted/short cuts out of what was left of the mystery fleece, flicking them open, and carding them.
    • Tossed somewhere between one-third and one-half of the fleece (into the woods for the animals to use, not the garbage)
    • Not great spinning fleeces, but they were cheap and I found them via a post from a local farmer on Craigslist – the farmer told me that the sheep not raised for spinning fiber as a goal, she sheared them herself and admitted to needing more practice in shearing without second cuts, and they were stored in feed bags in a barn loft (I grabbed a fresh one at the time)
    • Practice fleeces, so I’m sure I matted up some locks that would have been fine if I’d really known what I was doing.
    • ALL the mystery fleece that I’m using has now been prepped and carded into batts, ready for spinning
  • Chain-ply a left over single from the first half of the mystery fleece
  • Brown cormo sweater spin with cormo from Marsh Mallo Farms and Clabber Glynn Farm
  • Chain-ply “Columbia” batt from Classy Squid Fiber Co

  • Craft Room – Welcome to the new carpet!!
  • New phone – Filming with the new phone, so the image and sound might be a little different than usual.
  • Weather – Ugh hot and also ticks, which are ridiculous right now. We’re taking all precautions – Pen is on flea/tick meds and a natural fragrant oil spray for dogs, and we’ve got a fresh can of Off! Deep Woods for the humans – but man, you know the tick situation is bad when you come in from taking the dog out and she flops over to have you check her belly and chest for ticks. This dog has had so many hitching rides in her fur that she checks her feet and her back for them herself.

    • A new time podcast in the style of old time radio!
    • The episodes were live events in a sort of radio variety hour and each segment was split out into a podcast episode. There’s a bunch of different shows on here, but the one that really appealed to me is “Beyond Belief” which is a series about Frank and Sadie Doyle who are high-society drunks that go about solving paranormal problems. It’s full of hilarious word play and ghost jokes.

  • Craft Room – Thursday the room was measured for the new carpet!
  • Library – Finally got moving on a library record system that I think I will be able to use and update easily. I was using LibraryThing.Com which is a great resource if you have mostly one type of book. I was using it to track physical books for a while, but it’s been over ten years since I’ve started that account, so my library is more varied between physical, digital, and audio books and I couldn’t figure out a good way to track that with LibraryThing. Now I have a spreadsheet in Google Drive, since I’m routinely in there for podcast and writing things.
  • Stitches and CTS&W! – Went to Stitches United on Friday and Connecticut Sheep & Wool on Saturday and had a great time.
  • International Tabletop Day – Went to my friends’ house on Saturday after the festival to play board games.

    • I went to sleep on the worst day of my life and woke to find myself in the past on the second worst day of my life. As experiences go, I don’t recommend it.
    • General Leia Organa goes to bed the day her husband Han Solo dies and wakes up in the cargo hold of the Imperial ship bringing her to the Death Star. She has to navigate through her own past to try to prevent the destruction of Alderaan and get the Rebellion on track with the changes she makes to her past. Beautiful characterization of Leia and the ruthless practicality of her later years and wonderful exploration of her relationship with her parents as a young adult and as her older self.

Life Stuff

  • Health – Doctor adventure due to shortness of breath and a dry cough. Nothing came up on x-rays, EKG, or bloodwork, so antibiotics and prednisone for a week and an emergency inhaler as needed. Likely a sinus infection that got weird and aggravated my bronchial tubes. Made me change how I sleep and now I sleep much better. Weird.
  • Dogs – Audrey stayed with us while Gabby/Once Upon a Corgi was on vacation and she’s a troublemaking sweetheart. Penny hurt her back jumping into my mom’s car leaving a routine vet appointment and hurt her back, but she’s feeling much better on the anti-inflammatories/pain meds.
  • New Craft Room – No update! Some plumbing issues and the weather postponed the carpet purchasing.

Life Stuff

  • New Website – In the process of changing domain providers and I’ve created the basics of the new site. Switching from Squarespace to WordPress because when I ended up using the website for isn’t worth the amount of the Squarespace subscription and I’d like to be more familiar with WordPress as a platform. Currently freakishlemonpodcast.wordpress.com.
  • Depression Spiral – Started setting in Friday with just lagging, tried to counter it with getting things done, spiraled down and kind of hovered at the bottom for a few days and then started coming out of it Friday.
  • House Guest – Miss Audrey gets to stay with us while Gabby/Once Upon a Corgi gets to go on vacation.
  • New Craft Room – Painting is mostly done. Dad will be getting the carpet next weekend.

  • WTF Weather – It’s been so warm and it makes me sad. February is supposed to be bitter cold and below 0, but it reached 70F (21.1C) the other day D:
  • New craft room? – 95% sure that my craft stuff will be moving down stairs and we’ve started redoing the family room with some painting. Parents are thinking about turning this corner into a library nook, which should be nice. Didn’t stop me from reorganizing my corner again anyway.
